You know I am caught up in stuff when I put quotes in here.
When you can’t do something truly useful, you tend to vent the pent up energy in something useless but available, like snappy dressing. ~Lois McMaster Bujold
Most definitely I do the above. They don’t call it retail therapy for nothin’.
Just around the corner in every woman’s mind – is a lovely dress, a wonderful suit, or entire costume which will make an enchanting new creature of her. ~Wilhela Cushman
Somehow, her name makes me think she came from another era. . . a time when a jacket and skirt was ‘a suit’. And the word ‘enchanting’ was used without reference to Twilight things and 21st century wizards, but to gracious gentlewomen who were strong and resilient. And yet, such a woman can talk about dresses and (Chanel) suits like they are the most important things in the world.
And one more . . .
When in doubt, wear red. ~Bill Blass
Interestingly, Bill Blass was most well known for his lovely black and white clothes and soft understated colours. Of course, like any other designer, he did lovely red evening dresses, because as everyone knows, one wears red in which to paint the town.
The number of red apparel I own I can count on one hand. Does this mean I am hardly ever in doubt?
Maybe.
Life is short. Enjoy what you wear.
