Accuse me of being superficial, but here goes my first posting on — clothes.
I’ve resisted, I think, previously, out of deference to what people think of me–a geek princess who nowadays has the nerve to pose as an Ah Lian.
My latest acquisition is this perfectly delightful little red dress.
Here’s why I am dedicating an entire post to just a single piece of attire:1. The hue is a traffic-stopping red, not muted by pink or blue tones. Pure reds in tasteful cuts are a rare thing in Singapore malls where most things are same-same-but-different.
2. It’s all in the details. A big ruffle snakes down from the neck to the hem, artfully hiding the zipper.
3. A detachable hood keeps the look sporty, so it avoids that all-dressed-up look.
4. Most important, it gives off a hi-energy vibe. I need that sometimes when I have late nights out two in a row. So I’ll throw it on when I need to be a little more “me” than I can muster, or when I want to give the impression of going somewhere wonderful. You know what I mean.
Tell me what you think.
