As I was researching an upcoming guest for my next show (sneaks: Christian guitarist extraordinare Benny Prasad), I checked out another musician he once jammed with, Phil Keaggy.
You can listen to the song here. I do think that anyone who listens to it will feel a sense of liberation if you let the music fill the mind and let the thoughts wander. Except they won’t stray very far from the focus of the lyrics.
Chasing down hot air balloons on Sunday morning, In pace with a familiar tune I reach for nothing less, but something more all the day, and the wind is at my back most of the way…Holding conversation with a friend I know is near, Great anticipation fills my soul, it fills my heart, It fills the air all the day, And the wind is at my back. . . Oh I can’t wait to see you Jesus, face to face, Nothing in this world can take Your place, All the pride of man laid low, And all his works of gold, Nothing can compare with what You are, Let everything else go. . . Let it all go. . . And the wind is at my back. . . (Let Everything Else Go, Phil Keaggy)
Besides the title, there are two other phrases nestled in the lyrics that are close to my heart.
I’m pretty sure you can guess what they are. Do take a guess and leave a comment, ok?
Tell me what you think.
