Letters of Life

Serendipity

Jonathan: This is the ultimate blend to drink. How’d you find this place?

Sara: I first came in because of the name: Serendipity. It’s one of my favorite words.

Jonathan: It is? Why?

Sara: It’s such a nice sounding word for what it means: A fortunate accident.

From the movie Serendipity (2001)

What makes life surprising and interesting is the degree to which serendipity figures in it.

Yet, one man’s serendipitous finding is another’s perceived (chrono)logical chain of events.

Even so, it’s a beautiful word, for it conjures up chance and mystery, and music, all at the same time.
