If the Shoe Fits, Wear it, Baby

There is an element of seduction in shoes that doesn’t exist for men. A woman can be sexy, charming, witty or shy with her shoes. Christian Louboutin, French footwear designer

And if it feels good, put it on.

I call these my high-heel runners.

I love the idea that this electric-blue shoe with the fluorescent heel is such a beautiful oxymoron. I think that’s what made me get it. The idea that a designer was inspired by the rugged elegance of the athletic shoe and decided to see if it would look better with a stiletto.

This shoe reminds me how much I liked lacing up my shoes and running on the open road or on the trail underneath the tall old trees by the reservoir. The feeling of being light-footed and agile, and oh, all the things I don’t feel today.

Maybe I’ll wear it next week. Just to feel better.
